Giving Campaign with a Difference
In 2024, Rangi Ruru launched a giving campaign with a difference. Instead of an annual appeal, we asked our community to pay it forward and help Māia Health Foundation raise funds for Kahurangi, a dedicated mental health outpatient facility for children and youth in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
Over the last few years demand for Child, Adolescent, and Family (CAF) outpatient services have surged, with 400 young people now referred each month. The CAF service has seen a 157% increase in clinical interactions, highlighting the growing mental health needs among our youth. Māia Health Foundation is committed to raising $6 million of the $16 million needed to build Kahurangi—a vibrant, supportive facility that will transform care for young people in our community.
To help them do this, they invited Christchurch businesses to join them for the Amazing Raise, a fun-filled day of activities and challenges situated at different locations around the city. Businesses were encouraged to help raise awareness and funds with their own communities towards the cause by taking part.
Rangi Ruru’s Amazing Raise team was made up of Principal, Tracy Herft, Head of School, Georgia Rumball, Development and Sponsorship Executive, Kirsty Rueppell, and current parent Tim Clements.
The team gave it their all on the day. From go cart racing to mini golf, brain teasers to axe throwing – there was a challenge for everyone. Rangi Ruru was awarded the Award for Fundraising Heroes, raising $16,201 for the cause. Thank you to everyone who supported this worthy cause.
