Learning Centre Leader

Full time, Permanent position – plus 2 Management units

We are seeking an empowering and collaborative educator, who understands how best to support learners, to lead our Learning Centre.

Working collaboratively in a team-orientated environment, this role requires a knowledge and experience of best practice approaches to learning support. You will be an empath who is flexible, responsive, analytical and you will have strong organisational and relationship skills.
You will prioritise the sharing of appropriate data and lead a team who collaborate with teachers to support learning progress. An understanding of learning challenges experienced by some students is important, along with a robust understanding of appropriate approaches to support learners and grow their independence. You will be adept at applying culturally responsive practices in the Learning Centre to support our commitment to Te Tiriti. Your personal drivers will align with our kura values of Respect, Aroha, Endeavour and Enthusiasm, Generosity and Integrity.

Successful applicants will be remunerated according to the appropriate salary step. This position also carries 2 management units.

Rowing Coach

We require an experienced Rowing Coach, with specific areas of expertise, communication skills, compatibility with the Rangi Ruru ethos and the desire to be part of a future focused team which will inspire, challenge, and empower our rowers.

Sports Coordinator

Permanent, 33 hours per week

Rangi Ruru Girls’ School is an independent girls’ school with a reputation for excellence in both academic and extra-curricular activities. With a proud history of sporting participation and achievement, we offer opportunities for ākonga to be the best they can be, whatever they choose to do. Central to our success is attracting and retaining quality staff who can help support the development of our ākonga and programmes.

We are currently seeking a passionate person with outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills to join our Sports Department. The Sports Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the facilitation and coordination of identified sporting codes at Rangi Ruru. Applicants are encouraged to specify any specific strengths or passions in particular sporting codes or areas. A key focus is on ensuring the quality of the programmes being delivered is of a high standard and importantly meets the needs of the student community. The permanent, part-time position (33 hours) can be supplemented by taking on additional coaching role(s), should the appointed person have relevant experience.

  • – Have experience coordinating or delivering sport
  • – Have an understanding of the demands and expectations of working in a school environment
  • – Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • – Display leadership capability along with the ability to work as a member of a team
  • – Be calm under pressure and be able to work positively in stressful situations
  • – Have competency with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel) and social media platforms
  • – Be supportive of the ethos and values of Rangi Ruru
  • – Operate with discretion and understand the importance of confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
