The Stellar Music Programme provides a personalised learning environment of enrichment and extension for Rangi’s Stellar Music Scholars and other high achieving musicians. Girls learn within a framework of inspiration, challenge and empowerment, including mentoring from leading creative and forward-thinking musicians.
Opportunities for leadership are provided through experiencing a wide range of musical pursuits. Girls are supported to be involved in the wider academic, sporting, cultural and service programmes at Rangi Ruru.
A programme such as Stellar Music inspires students to do their best and strive to achieve excellence. Having access to like-minded musicians, who are leaders in their field, is incredibly valuable, helping a student to grow their musical talent.
The Stellar Enrichment Programme (StEP) allows girls to work together in a vertical grouping as part of Rangi’s High Performance Learning programme. Learning and enrichment focuses around four main pillars:
1. Solo Performance
2. Ensemble Performance
3. Composition
4. Music study
Mental Performance Training
Music scholars are offered individual Mental Performance coaching where girls are equipped with the skills to ‘unlock the power of the mind to be the best version of themselves’.
Stellar Strings
Stellar Strings provides enrichment and extension for string players through opportunities to work with some of New Zealand’s most highly regarded string teachers and performers, alongside Rangi alumni who have gone on to forge careers in music.
Other
Advanced mentoring and coaching are provided for girls in other instrumental and vocal specialist areas as appropriate.
